Apparently basking in the euphoria of his acquittal by the Appeal Court, former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdulahi has asked those who allegedly contributed to his detention in Kuje prison to go and beg for forgiveness.
Justice Ahmad Belgore had in his judgement delivered on February 6 upheld a ‘no-case-submission’ filed by Sani Lulu, in the corruption charge brought against him and three others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Lulu and his former henchmen Taiwo Ogunjobi, Amanze Uchegbulam and Bolaji Ojo-Oba were charged to court for allegedly misappropriating funds belonging to the federation.
While reacting to the victory, the former NFF boss has asked those responsible for his eight years travail in court to repent or face the nemesis.
Lulu said the two Marcopolo buses in question are still what the national team are enjoying till today.
According to him, it is like a big load was put off my neck. ” It was eight years of uncertainty going in and out of court”.
“I am a Quantity Surveyor by profession and I was Director of Sports for nine years and I was sure we followed the due process before we bought the buses but was surprised when they came up with the allegations.
“I thank God we have been vindicated “he concluded.
