A four year-old girl was killed on the spot and while two others later gave up the ghost in the hospital as a result of a fatal accident that happened at about 3:32pm on Saturday by the Lafia Township stadium junction, when a truck carrying bags of oranges fell brake against traffic and rammed into six vehicles, including eight motor cycles that had stopped due traffic indicator signals.
An eyewitness who spoke with our correspondent, lamented that the truck was coming uncontrollably as it rammed into other automobiles that had stopped awaiting the green light to allow their movement thereby killing the four year-old on the spot and other sustained serious injuries. Two of the injured later died at Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, where they were rushed to.
Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), who were stationed at the junction in order to aid motorists who may not have had the knowledge of the newly installed device, were seen rescuing the accident victims to hospital.
Residents who were there to assist decried the rate of speeding by motorists along the express road and suggested that government build bumps across the road a Fifty meters before the traffic light as it could help in reducing accident by the junction which has become a usual occurrence.
