The Actors Guild of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter has recently had a change of guard in the leadership of the guild in Abuja. This happened recently at the NANET Suites, where the former chairman of the organization, Chief Onwurah Agility, immediate past chairman of the organization, handed over to the new leadership of the group led by Prince Alvin Ahmed, popularly known as Mic Master, at a well-attended swearing in ceremony.
The new executives were elected in a highly contentious election at the organisations usual meeting ground at the Asset Garden, Garki, in early December 2017. Asides the chairman, who emerged in a landslide victory over 3 other contestants, others that were elected are; Enitan Audu, Vice Chairman, St. Joseph Nwanze, Secretary, Ik Godsfriend, Director of Guild Services, Oluwafemi Iwajomo, Chief Whip and Blessing Etukudor, Welfare.
Mic Master, who addressed the crowded hall at NANET, promised to build on the successes of the previous administration to take the guild to greater height. Promi9sing that better days await Abuja actors and actresses, as he would make their welfare the primary interest of his administration. He also promised to work in partnership with other guilds and associations in Abuja Nollywood to enhance the film destination potentials of the FCT and its environs.
