A former governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma, is dead. He passed on last night at the age of 75.
The late Doma who holds the traditional title of Maduacin (Okuba) of Doma was said to have died in an Israeli Hospital after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
The demise of the former governor was confirmed to our correspondent last night by some of his close associates.
He was elected governor of Nasarawa State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and served from 2007 to 2011 when he lost to the incumbent, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
