From Francis Ajuonuma, Lagos
MFM FC save-hands, Egbe Ospino is confident that he and his teammates are ready to put their lives on the line to ensure that they qualify for the group stage of CAF Champions’ League at the expense of Mouloudia Club D’ Alger of Algeria.
The Olukoya Boys won the first leg encounter 2-1 played on March 7th at the Agege Stadium Lagos with the decisive return leg set to hold on March 17 at the Stade 5 Juillet 1962, Algiers.
A draw will guarantee MFM FC qualification into the money spinning Group stage of the competition.
The Stade 5 Juillet has proved to be a slaughter ground for the Algerians, who thrashed Otoho d’ Oyo of Congo Brazzaville 9-0 in their last club continental home game.
But Egbe is confident that the Algerians will not have easy stroll at Stade 5 Juillet as they will be stunned at their backyard.
“Yes, the Algerians are a good side. Very fast in attack and they operate from the wings most of the time, but we’ll be ready for them.
“They have a frightening home record but we’re going there to put our lives on the line to ensure that we qualify for the group stage.
“The high spirit in the team is one of the things pushing us on. Against Real Bamako of Mali in Bamako, nobody gave us a chance, but we went there with determination we got a draw. So, I’m going to put in my best to keep a clean sheet in that match and by the grace of God we’ll get a draw that will qualify us,” he said.
