Ganduje seeks change of attitude from Kano residents

Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Thursday A�urged Kano residents to embrace the Federal Government’s campaign of a�?Change Begins With Mea�?,A�A�so as to sustain the fight against corruption and other social vices.

Ganduje who spoke during a programme held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, entitled a�?Domestication of Change Begin With Me Campaign,” said socio-economic development can only be realistic when citizens believe in Nigeria and do things the right way.

According to him, despite unwavering efforts by the government to check the menace of immorality, the problem has continued deteriorate day after day.

He noted that the state government had provided machineries to curtail the rise of social vices in the state, adding that his administration has strengthened the activities of Hisbah Board that is saddled with the responsibility of sanitizing Kano of social immorality.

“Our government has set aside special consideration to fighting rape, drug abuse, and prostitution, among others. These are the main problem that provides a snag to the development of our dear state.

“Ironically, you find that even in government, there are a lot of people that don’t exhibit morality in their working place. We even established an anti-graft commission to fight corruption.

“We call on everybody to partner with the government to achieve this giant task. We appreciate the President, Muhammadu Buhari, for this good initiative and we pledge to do our best in actualising this campaign, ” he said

Earlier in his remark, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, commended the administration of governor Ganduje for embracing the Buhari’s change agenda.

Mohammed, who was represented by Salihu Jibrin, a director in the ministry, said one of the cardinal objectives of the President Buhari’s administration was to reorient the Nigeria population towards accelerated development.
