The Nasarawa State Government has commenced the recruitment of teachers into the newly established Comprehensive Special School, Lafia.
The state’s Commissioner for Special Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Jonathan Ayuba, disclosed this to The AUTHORITY in Lafia, the state capital.
He said that out of the over 4, 000 candidates who applied for the teaching job, 135 of them who are graduates and possessed the perquisite qualification in the various fields of special education were screened and shortlisted, adding that candidates were shortlisted from all the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
“After the screening, those who would be employed will be added to those already teaching in the school, after this phase of employment, the ministry would also employ other supporting staff,” the commissioner said.
While saying after the employment, the staff would be properly trained in line with the curriculum of the school, the commissioner assured members of the public that the school would maintain high academic standard.
