Controversial journalist and social media activist, Kemi Olunloyo, has come very hard on Nigerian youths over their attitude towards the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show. The youths, whom Kemi described as smart but not intelligent, she reasoned would rather waste their precious time and money on a non-profitable venture as following and voting on a reality show but may not pay to vote a politician.
In her words; “I’ve always said our #Nigerian youth are smart but NOT intelligent. Anto was voted off #BBNaija. ₦30/vote with 11million votes, they just paid the producers ₦330M and they are complaining of poverty, unemployment and hunger. Young ppl are throwing their lives away paying to vote on a reality show weekly. Will you pay to vote for a politician?
Kemi, with the above, lends her voice to several Nigerians who have argued against the continued broadcast of the annual reality show for lack of meaningful socio-economic and intellectual value to the millions of youths that have become addicted to the program.
