The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 246,882 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are yet to be collected by registered voters in the Federal Capital Territory.
Mrs. Ndidi Okafor, Head, Voter Education and Publicity, Gender and Civil Society Liaison of the Commission stated this in an interaction with The AUTHORITY at the weekend.
She said it was a worrisome situation that the PVCs lay at INEC office, with no serious turn out by the voters to collect them.
Okafor stated that, the yet to be claimed PVCs spanned from 2011, 2014 and 2016 registration exercises across the territory.
She said previously 250,000.00 PVCs were unclaimed as at the end of first quarter which ended last month, but that only 3,118 were collected, remaining 246,882.
According to her, the Commission was not going to relent in sensitising voters on the need to register as well as collect their PVCs.
