Heartland FC of Owerri will this weekend attempt to salvage some pride as defending champions, Plateau United come calling in the Week 18 of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The game which will take place at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri is another opportunity for the Naze millionaires who are languishing at the relegation table of the league to try a possible redemption mission.
Heartland who only a few weeks ago sacked their former coach, Ramson Madu and hired Turkish tactician, Tayfun is makong a return to the elite league after a stinct at the lower Nigerian National League (NNL).
However, Plateau United who recently crashed out of the CAF Confederations League will equally want to regain some pride knowing fully well that the title may have eluded them this season.
In other fixtures, Nasarawa United will be at home against Abia Warriors while Katsina United will host El-Kanemi Warriors at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium.
Kano Pillars on the other hand take a trip to Makurdi where they will confront Lobi Stars. Akwa United who narrowly missedA� out of the CAF Confederations Cup will be hoping to give their supporters something to cheer when they host struggling Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Nigeria’s only surviving team in the continent, Enyimba International of Aba will try to consolidate on their smooth run as they take a long trip to Wikki Tourists while Kwara United who are plotting their ressurgence will ambush another struggling side, Go Round at the Illorin Township Stadium.
There will be an Oriental battle as FC Ifeanyi Ubah plays host to next door neighbours, Rangers International of Enugu while MFM of Lagos hosts Rivers United. It will be Niger Tornadoes against Yobe Desert Stars.
