Lagos State Government said it contributes 75 per cent towards Health Insurance Scheme provided for its workers.
Governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode, said this while speaking on his achievements in the past three years, adding that the workers in turn contribute only 25 per cent to the Scheme.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr Akintola Benson, said he approved the request of Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) on the contributory ratio of 25: 75 as against 40:60 earlier proposed by the Government.
He said: a�?With this approval, the workers will contribute 25 per cent towards the scheme while 75 per cent will be borne by the State Government.
a�?The Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions amongst other duties are saddled with the responsibility of maintaining industrial peace within the Public Service. The Industrial Relations Department in Office of Establishments and Traininga��s main obligation is to support the Government and its work force in creating a safe, conflict-free and productive workplace by providing strategic and expert advice and counsel on industrial relationsa�?.
