Some members of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Nasarawa State Chapter have written a petition against one DrANayagawa Ayuwaja of Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, accusing him of financial impropriety.

Dr John Udoh, Spokesman of the group while disclosing this in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, alleged that Dr Ayuwaje misappropriated millions of naira when heAserved as the Chairman of NMA in FCTA and in Nasarawa state respectively.

According to him, Dr Ayuwaje looted the association treasury in FCT and was indicted by the committee that Aprobed his regime, andA that he took hisA Abuja branch of NMA to courtAAafter his indictment.

He further explained that the same Dr Ayuwaje also misappropriated the associations money while he served as its Chairman from 2012-2014, pointing that the committee that also probed his activities as NMA chairman in Nasarawa also uncovered a lot of corruption perpetrated by him.

“Some of the corruptions uncovered are physical collection of 5,000 naira cash from 450 of his colleagues in FMC Keffi as strike levies to national Headquarters of NMA but diverted the entire money for personal use.

“Others includes collection of millions of naira from Nasarawa State Government for an activity but diverted it without the knowledge of the association and several other fraudulent actions that were proven beyond reasonable doubt,” he added.

He therefore called on the Headquarters of NMA not to consider such a person with these bad records for any position at the national body of the association.

Reacting, Dr Ayuwaje denied all the allegations, describing them as baseless, wicked and deliberate ploy to tarnish his image

He added that “the petition was coming from his opponent who are just trying to tarnishA my reputation” HeA therefore threatened to file a case in court against all the Doctors that have signed the petition.
