Scores of Imo youths gathered at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday in Abuja, chanting anti Governor Rochas Okorocha songs with placards.

The youths, who were demanding for an end to Governor Okorocha’s alleged hijacking of their state, accused him of plots to take over the state through his planned imposition of his son in-law, Uche Nwosu, as his successor in the 2019.governorship poll.

The protest was staged even as members of Imo House of Assembly, said to have come at the behest of the Governor, stormed the APC secretariat to protest the conduct of the Ward and Local Local Congresses in the state.

Some of the placards read : “No more Rochas,”  “After Rochas No Rochas in-law,”  “Rochas, stop fighting everybody in Imo” ,  “Rochas Go,” Rochas Go, and many others.

Leader of the protesters, Igwekala Ugochinyere, who spoke to The AUTHORITY, said they were at the secretariat to protest against high hardness of the Imo State Governor.

According to the leader, “Imo State cannot be an asset for an individual or a family.”

He noted that they were at the secretariat to let the national officers know what they have passed through in the hand of the State Governor, adding that they have come to seek liberation from the hands of Governor Okmorocha and his family.

He affirmed that the Ward and Local Government congresses were conducted in Imo State as stipulated by the National Working Committee.
