Abia Warriors striker has scored eight goals in the NPFL this season

Obi was the match winner for Abia Warriors against El Kanemi Warriors on Monday in a rescheduled NPFL game.

The former Delta Force star and Ndifreke Effiong have both netted eight goals thus far.

“I believe I can score between 18 and 20 goals this season,” the exciting striker told SCORENigeria

“We did well against El Kanemi Warriors and it was important we won.”

Patrick Ngwaogwu, who is on Abia Warriors technical staff, has praised Obi’s progress.

“He is a young player with a decent chance, he will be great,” he remarked.

“He can take on defenders and finish well.”

Meanwhile, Abia Warriors Coach Emmanuel Deutcsh has expressed joy over the performance if his team which resulted in their 1-0 win over El Kanemi Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Monday.

The Uchendu Warriors earned their first away win of the season in recent 1-0 triumph over MFM FC and hoping to secure their third win in four games against the Borno Army.

After a goalless first half, Samson Obi’s 49th minute strike off Chinedu Ozor’s cross was all the hosts needed to see off the hard-fighting Borno Army in Umuahia.

After the slim win, the Cameroonian tactician heap praise on his side’s doggedness, having held their nerve to avoid a home slip-up against Imama Amapakabo’s side.

“It was a very tough game and (El Kanemi Warriors) played very well,” Deutcsh told media.
