Chief Coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi has stated that his players did not disappoint him despite losing 1-0 to Akwa United in a league tie on Wednesday.
Paul Obata’s strike in the 29th minute proved to be the difference in a fixture played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo and Elechi said that he was proud of his boys’ performance who gave the Promise Keepers a tough time despite losing the tie.
“We lost the tie but Akwa United will admit that we gave them a tough time and were fortunate to beat us,” he told Goal.
“It was a game we gave our all and we should have scored at least two goals if we had taken the few chances we created. My players did well and we shall continue to correct our lapses until we become a solid team.
“Akwa United won the game but I am sure they will be impressed with our performances. My boys played very well and they kept them at the back foot for the most part of the encounter.”
Go Round returned back to Omoku immediately after the game on Wednesday and Elechi hinted that they decided to return home because of their final of the Rivers State FA Cup billed for this weekend.
