The 225MVA capacitor bank newly installed at the Keffi Power Substation will improve power access to agro-processors and agro-allied industry, the Minister of State for Power Works and Housing II, Surv Hassan Zarma has said.
He disclosed this at Keffi Power Substation during an inspection of infrastructure projects in the North Central Geopolitical zone of the Federation.
“It will help the farmers and agro-allied industry. For those who need to power their farm processing equipment, they will find the improvement useful.
“The capacitor bank is like a battery. It boosts the power whenever there is low current.”
Zarma explained that the Japanese Government intervention project was a demonstration of confidence reposed in the current administration.
The power station will be commissioned in October.
According to the Minister, it is expected to power Akwanga, Keffi, Nasarawa, Karu and other rural parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He emphasised it will boost quality of power supply to the consumers, improve the economy and well-being of the people
