The industrialist made the donation in his factory in Ozubulu, Anambra State, when the management of institution honoured him with immortalization award.
In his speech, the President of Crown Point International School, Dr. Samuel Takon Ojong, said the institution came into existence after he had contact with the industrialist sometime ago in Republic of Benin.
He noted that the industrialist, whose philanthropic gesture knows no tribe, made a great impact on him and as such decided to name the institution ‘Crown Point’ because Chief Onukwo was using his crown as the king of Igbo in Benin Republic then to positively impact on the lives of all Nigerians.
Ojong said the institution has also decided to honour Chief Onukwo with Leadership of Excellence award in addition to naming the multipurpose hall of the school after him, adding that it has also been decided that he be made the chairman Board of Trustees of the school.
The president of Crown Point, who is from Cross River State, said that he decided to establish the school in Oke-Erinja, Owode Yewa in Ogun State because he was selling sachet water with his mother in the place and intended to make a statement of how one can move from grass to grace.
Chief Onukwo in his acceptance speech thanked the management of the school for counting him worthy of immortalization award.
The industrialist said the recognition was unexpected, adding that he would continue to partner with the institution for the purpose of actualising the dreams and aspiration of the founders of the school.
