World Cup-bound Oghenekaro Etebo has signed a five-year contract with Stoke City, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
“We’re really excited to have got the deal over the line for Etebo,” said new manager Gary Rowett.
Stoke City CEO Tony Scholes said Etebo spurned Premier League and German Bundesliga clubs to join his club.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined from Portuguese club Feirense for a reported 6.4 million pounds.
Last season, he played on loan at La Liga club UD Las Palmas, who were eventually relegated.
Etebo, who featured at the 2016 Rio Olympics, is hard working and weighs in with his own share of goals, playing either as a defensive or offensive midfielder.
