The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Dasuki Galadanchi, says he is on the mission to eradicate criminal activities and to ensure that the protection of life and property of the residents are fully guaranteed.
Galadanchi who is barely six weeks old in the Eastern Heartland as police boss disclosed this in his office at the State Police Command, Owerri on Wednesday while interacting with Crime Reporters in the state.
He said that he is an ardent believer of the Inspector General of Police- Ibrahim Idris administrative strategic policy stance which entails community engagement in crime prevention and control, intelligence led policy, robust fight against violent crime, quick and timely response to distress calls among other tips.
The police boss revealed that men of the command and under his watch have resolved that the safety and security of Imolities remains sacrosanct and that they are committed in their resolve to ensure safer, more secured and prosperous Imo State.
To demonstrate his mission, Galadanchi said he has begun “the crime mapping of the entire command and have met with traditional rulers in the State to fashion out robust co-operation, collaboration and partnership in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.”
Accordingly, we have strategised to provide quality service delivery to the residents of Imo State, ensure openness, transparency and accountability. Partner with traditional institution, sister security agencies, the media, civil society, non-state actors in security matters as well as the general public” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police further insisted on his commitment to fight serious crimes of armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, thuggery and other violent social disorders with renewed vigour and strength.
He expressed his detest against corruption and corrupt tendencies while canvassing for the adoption of community policing strategy as the best way of nipping on buds all criminal activities.
