Nasarawa Govt mourns ERCC president’s demise

Nasarawa State government has expressed shock over the sudden death of the President of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ, Reverend Dr Jerry Samari Maddibo.
The state Deputy Governor, Mr Silas Agara dropped the government condolence message in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Godspower Adeh and made available to The AUTHORITY on Wednesday in Lafia, after the visit of the deputy governor to the family of the deceased at his official residence at Alushi, headquarters of the church in Akwanga.
The late Reverend Jerry Samari passed away in his sleep as the body was discovered on Tuesday morning at his residence in Alushi.
The statement said the government and people of Nasarawa State are deeply saddened by the shocking demise of the spiritual leader whom he described as vocal, peaceful and a friend of all.
While praying for the repose of his soul in the bosom of the Lord, the deputy governor urged the Maddibo family and the entire ERCC members to see the exit of their leader as an act of God.
He also assured of the support of the state government in giving the departed president of the ERCC a befitting burial.
The AUTHORITY report that late Rev Dr Jerry Maddibo became the ERCC president about four years ago and passed away as a result of cardiac arrest at the age of 51 leaving behind a wife, two children and many relations.
