Worried by the problems associated with documentation being faced by most Nigerians in import and export businesses, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council has advanced plans to hold a one-day enlightenment Seminar for importers and exporters in Imo State.
The council in a statement by its the South East Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. A.I. Okolue, said the seminar comes up next week in Owerri with the theme “The imperative of proper documentation in import/export transactions, the stakeholders challenge”.
Okolue reiterated that the essence of the seminar is to equip and enlighten importers and exporters in Imo State and its environ, as well as other stakeholders in the shipping/transport sub-sectors, with the basic information required for proper documentation in international trade transactions.
She assured that the seminar will enable the stakeholders to develop and expand their capacities in the shipping cum transport sub-sector as it concerns matters associated with international trade.
The Zonal Coordinator also pointed out that the seminar will highlight the various issues and risk factors associated with improper documentations in international trade and possible ways of avoiding them.
