Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr, has said his team is capable of winning today’s game against Iceland if they reengineer their fighting spirit.

Rohr, who had come under fire after the dismal outing of his team in their first Group D game of the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup, has insisted that he believes with hard work, Super Eagles will get a positive result on Friday against Iceland.

Rohr said the players have realised their mistakes and have worked so hard to correct them in training.

“We have to be fully focused and not lose concentration all through the game. I believe that with hard work we can get a good result.”

He further appealed to the fans to trust the team to make them proud, adding that there is no need piling pressure on the team which he warned could be counter-productive.

“In truth, there is no need to add to the pressure we have now. More pressure on the team will not necessarily translate to better results.” Rohr added.

The Super Eagles must avoid a defeat in today’s game against Iceland if they hope to progress to the next round of the championship.
