Uke Community sends SOS to Obiano over bad condition of roads

ISAAC OJO reports that the People of Oba village in Uke Community, Idemmili Local Government Area of Anambra State have sent a save our soul (SOS) message to Governor Willie Obiano over poor condition of major roads that connect the village with neighbouring towns in Idemmili North and Idemmili South.

A stakeholder in the village, Chief Frank Udechukwu who took our correspondent round the said roads, explained that the roads are the one that connect Uke with Ogidi and Abatete, the one that connects Uke with Nnobi and Umuoji, the one that connects Uke with neighboring Ideani and the one that connects Oba village with Umuazu Uke leading to St Luke’s Catholic Church Uke.

Chief Udechukwu said that the attention of State Government was drawn to the roads last year before the governorships election through the former Commissioner for Work, Hon Lawrence Chinwuba and the paper designing already prepared but the contract was not awarded till date.

Chief Udechukwu on behalf of the people appealed to Governor Obiano to kindly come and save the situation before it starts raining heavily as according to him, the condition of the roads will get worse when the rainy season takes full shape.
