A United States of America (USA) based support group for the presidential ambition of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the United Support for Atiku has described the formation of Coalition for United Political Parties, (CUPP} as the beginning of the process for the opposition to take over power in 2019.
The group in a statement issued by its Coordinator, Ben Oyekunle, commended the 38 political parties which recently formed a coalition, stressing that it is a notable achievement in the quest to oust the APC from Aso Rock come 2019.
“We commend the sacrifices and efforts made by individuals and parties concerned. USA also congratulate all Nigerians who are going through an excruciating hard time under the government of President Mohammedu Buhari and his fellow guests in the seat of power.
“Nigerians everywhere are sighing and longing for a better deal. This coalition therefore signals hope, the much sought light at the end of the dark tunnel.”
The group, which noted that bad news of gruesome massacres, kidnapping, inflation and recession wake Nigerians up every morning in the past three year, regretted that the APC le
government has offered no solutions but excuses and blames for the legion of Nigeria’s problem.
They emphasized that there is an urgent need to sustain the tempo and further strengthen the unity, adding that sacrifice is needed on the part of all concerned to achieve the desired goal.
The group therefore pleaded with stakeholders; parties and
individuals to support the aspiration of Atiku Abubakar as the coalition’s presidential candidate, stressing that the former Vice President, more than all other worthy aspirants, has what it takes to take the nation to the next level.
