Alumni undertakes water project at Abia poly

The Alumni association of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba has sponsored the sinking of a water borehole at the institution.

This project has added to other projects the seven months old administration of Comrade Amaogu Festus has undertaken.

The association had sand-filled, graded walk ways and evacuated refuse from the institution.

Handing over the project to the Managent of the institution Comrade Amaogu said the gesture was part of their contributions towards bettering the lots of students and staff.

He hinted that the association “is proposing to build a two-storey building that will serve as lecture halls and ease the infrastructure challenges confronting the institution.”

The Rector of the polytechnic, Prof Ezionye Eboh, in his remarks thanked the association for its gestures and promised a continuous partnership with the association.

The conferment of “Special Friend of Abia State Polytechnic Alumni Association” award to a philanthropist and Managing Director of Tunnel End Limited, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor marked the highpoint of the event.

Engr. Nwafor in his speech promised donations of a bus and N1million to the association to enable it meet some of its challenges.

He also promised to institute an annual scholarship scheme for three students of the institution through the instrumentality of his foundation, One Aid One as well engage students of the institution from engineering- related disciplines in his firm,Tunnel End Limited.
