Nimrod wants private sector involvement in Volleyball

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod on has harped on the need for the organized corporate organizations to partner with the federation in the development of the sport..

Nimrod made the call yesterday during an interview with journalists after the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) award night in Asaba, the Delta state capital.

He said the federation wants the private sector to join her in the journey of building discovered athletes from the Africa Youth Games in Algeria.

The NVBF president was also excited to tell his audience that after the latest ranking by the World Volleyball body, that the under 19 male team is now ranked 1st in Africa.

“The federation has a lot of programmer on ground and our concern now is for corporate organizations to come and assist us because we already have the products to sell. Right now, we are ranked no 1 in Africa in the recently released information by the World body.

“These young boys are the products. The volleyball federation ones again call on the private sector to join us in the race of building the federation. This is the stepping stone to greatness in volleyball”, he said.

According to the NVBF boss, the under 20 female team will participate in the Nation’s Cup this month in Kenya, while Nigeria will host the under 21 male’s Nation’s Cup also in the year.

“We are preparing for the under 20 female Nation’s Cup in Kenya, while Nigeria is ready to host the under 21 male’s Nation’s Cup in September”, he added.
