National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has assured that the Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara will not leave the party for the opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP)

Oshiomhole’s assurance came even as there are heightened fears that the Speaker is on his way out of the APC, as he failed to deliver his Bogoro Local Government Area to the A{PC in last weekend’s Bauchi senatorial district bye election.

Even as the APC candidate, Lawal Gamau was declared winner ny INEC in the bye election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in only Bogoro Local Government Area, the council of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Oshiomhole said at the weekend that he has had some discussions with the House of Representatives Speaker, noting that he has received his assurances that he would not dump the APC

“I have absolute confidence in the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Yakubu Dogara. I said something earlier, It was Senator Saraki complaining that he was not only denied allocation of juicy appointments by the President, but also Hon Dogara. I wondered why Senator Saraki should speak for Rt. Hon. Dogara. He is the Speaker. If those were the views of Hon. Dogara, it was not Saraki to parrot. Hon. Dogara is capable any day to speak for himself.

“Senator Saraki wants to drag everybody with him. The APC and I have full confidence in Hon. Dogara.

“I have had very impressive interactions with him, we’ve had meetings and he has shared his grievances with me in trust, issues that has to do with Bauchi State, and I have taken time to address those issues to the best of my ability. I have also told him that I am excited that we are getting positive results.

“So Hon. Dogara has no problems with APC. And he did not do anything similar to what Senator Saraki did. He emerged as Speaker and he also ensured that an APC member emerged as Deputy Speaker. He was not so desperate as to mortgage that position in order to cling on to his position. He did not sacrifice party interest to his personal interest. We have absolute confidence in him,” the APC National Chairman said.
