2019: I am propelled by patriotism- Atiku

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said his greatest motivation for seeking to be President is his desire to move the Nigeria forward.

Atiku made the disclosure in Owerri, when he visited Imo born elder statesman and stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as part of his nationwide consultations to contest for the position of President.

According to him, the nation has riddled with bad governance, even as he added that he had solution to the many challenges confronting the nation.

Abubakar said “patriotism is the key thing; it is the thing propelling my presidential ambition. I want to move Nigeria forward. Patriotism is needed to move Nigeria forward and I am very patriotic. And together, we will improve the nation”.

He disclosed that he was visiting PDP members in all the States, to consult on how to improve the polity ahead of party’s Presidential primaries.

Chief Iwuanyanywu while endorsing Atiku, noted that he will not retire from politics until Abubakar became President, saying that Nigeria was in dire need of a leader like Atiku, who will address the rising issue of poverty.
