* arrest two for kidnap of corpse

Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi yesterday paraded two suspected killers of a Catholic Priest, Revd Fr Jude Egbuom three days after he was killed and his car snatched.
Also paraded were two suspects for the kidnap of a 90 years female corpse from a morgue in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.
Revd Fr Jude Egbuom was killed after he allegedly refused to give his Toyota Avalon Car keys to the robbery gang on Monday, in Nkwerre local government area. While a passerby who tried to intervene was also gunned down.
Until his death, Revd Fr Jude Egbuom was the parish priest in charge of St Patrick’s Catholic parish, Amucha,of Njaba Local Government Area of the state.
The Police boss said the suspects, 33 years old Chigozie Uzoukwu, and 21 years old Peter Ochokwu were arrested following diligent investigation by the Tactical Units of the command.
Galadanchi disclosed that one of the suspects, Ochokwu, was an ex convict who spent one year in Owerri prison for alleged involvement in an armed robbery case but was released.
According to him, during a search, a missing shoe in the slain Priest car, was found in the possession of the suspects, alongside other personal effects of the clergyman, which included clothes and shoes.
Already, the police has recovered the stolen vehicle belonging to the Priest, while the operator of the barbers salon where the Priest was accosted, one Raphael is still answering questions from the police.
In a twist, upon arrival at the police command, the suspects were identified by their former gang members, arrested for the kidnap of Engr Amasike, for who they collected N5million ransom, and the shooting of his Police orderly, whose rifle was snatched.
The police boss said the other gang members are Kelechi Nnajiuba,24,Ifeanyi Chukwukere,28, and Ekene Ohaeri,27, already in their custody.
Galadanchi said the gang had been terrorising Nkwerre and its environs and were on their wanted list, adding that other fleeing members will be rounded up soon.
Further, he said a total of 46 Permanent Voters Card (PVC) were recovered from the gang.
Meanwhile, a two man kidnap gang was also paraded for the kidnap of the corpse of a 90 years old woman in Akabo, in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.
The Imo Police boss said the suspects, 38 years old Chukwudi Chukwu from Ugurike in Ikeduru local government area and 28 years old Bethel Ibeh from Okwu in Ikeduru local government area, both in the State, had on September 3rd, broke into Jesus Hospital and Mortuary and stole a corpse.
Bethel, who was a former staff of the hospital was alleged to have broken into the morgue section in the wee hours, and made away with the corpse, after which they started demanding N5million ransom from the Medical Director, Prince Charles Nwanshi.
However, unknown to them, the police was tracking them and arrested them at their hideout.
They were paraded alongside the corpse at the police headquarters yesterday.
Ibeh, blamed his action on greed, even as he promised to turn a new leaf.
The police boss lamented at the wave of crimes in the State, even as he called on Imo people and their residents to always provide useful information to stop crimes, even before it is committed.
