Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Silas Agara, has promised monthly allowance to All Progressive Congress (APC) State, Local Government and Ward officials in the State, if he wins the State party primaries and governorship election.

He made the pledge during an interactive session with party delegates  and supporter at Nasarawa Eggon,Wamba and Akwanga Local government areas of the State.

The deputy governor, who is one of the front line aspirants for the Nasarawa State APC ticket said the pledge was taken after a careful thought on the plight of party officials in the State, which according to him need to improve so as to get the best out of them in achieving party goals in the State.

He argued that the gesture would also encourage the party executives to be more committed to the party, increase their zeal to working for the party and also offer them a sense of belonging in the party.

“This monthly allowance will motivate you all to do more for the party. Even when meetings are called, there will be no delays or absentees because party officials are taken care of and in return they will like to contribute to the development of the party,” he said.

He however explained that once elected as governor, the allowances would be funded from his personal income and other remunerations and not from government coffers so as to avoid any controversy that the effort may generate.

Responding, APC Chairman in Nasarawa Eggon local government area,  Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim thanked the Deputy Governor for his desire to improve the welfare of APC officials in the state, local and ward levels

He assured the Nasarawa state Deputy Governor that delegates in the local government have been well enlightened not to fall prey to aspirants who offer monetary inducement but offer their support to aspirants who will win the general election and change the state for good.
