Sen. Abe: Amaechi can do nothing about my guber ambition

September 18th, 2018

Rivers State APC governorship aspirant, Senator Magnus Abe has maintained that he was committed to his governorship ambition, adding that the Minister of Transport and APC leader in the South South zone, Rotimi Chibike Amaechi cannot stop him.

Abe, who is representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, at the red chambers on Monday maintained his position that Amaechi was his political party leader in the state and the South-south region.

Senator Abe said Amaechi’s position as former governor, member of APC caucus at the national level and member of the cabinet of the federal government gives him the courage to insist on respecting and referring to Amaechi as his leader which he also encouraged his supporters to do.

The Rivers South-East Senator spoke in reaction to a statement by Amaechi, asking Abe to stop making reference to him (Amaechi) as his leader.

He also dismissed insinuations that he was working with Governor Nyesom Wike of River State to weaken the APC in the state ahead of next year’s general election.

Senator Abe, who spoke in a forum in Port Harcourt, maintained that he is not disturbed if fighting for his right was the reasons for those allegations against him, stating that he was determined and committed to his course and not even, “the Minister of Transportation can stop me.”

“I want to tell His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi again that God is the one that will decide who will be Governor of Rivers State and there is nothing he can do about it.

“I am a Rivers man and I have decided to run for the office of the Governor of Rivers State. I will do everything within the constitution of our party and the Laws of our Land for my right.

“Former Governor Dr. Peter Odili never called Amaechi a traitor when he aspired to be Governor of Rivers state. He did all he could including going to the Supreme Court to get justice but now they are saying I am being sponsored by Nyesom Wike simply because I am fighting for my right. I am not disturbed,” Abe said
