Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the South East Democratic Network (SEDN) has endorsed Chief Victor Umeh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the authentic candidate to represent Anambra Central Senatorial Zone in the Senate.
In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja signed by its Secretary General, Elvis Okereke Orji, the group described Umeh as a “credible, acceptable, reliable and dependable politician who has provided effective representation to the people of Anambra Central Senatorial zone in the Senate, highlighted the plights of Ndigbo and marginalized citizens across the country with commendable people-oriented motions and bills that will address their sufferings.
“SEDN supports his re-election bid, assured that he is a bridge builder, versatile, resourceful and patriotic. Umeh’s wealth of experience and political sagacity as a grassroots politician and former APGA National Chairman who surmounted numerous hurdles to reposition and rebrand the party combined to give expression to his legislative duties in the Senate.”
The group stated that as the nation is at a crossroads with sour Executive–Legislature relationship that is threatening democratic process, there is need to have men and women of integrity and political savvy to navigate the political mines and provide dividends of democracy to the long suffering Nigerians.
It maintained that the Network has been following activities of political gladiators in the zone and will endorse credible candidates that will uplift the emerging democracy.
