From Austine Tule, Makurdi

The Benue State governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Mr Hingah Biem, has pledged to work toward returning the State back on the path of development with the view to restoring her past glories.

He informed that the Rescue Mission Agenda of the SDP as conceived and initiated was primarily targeted at putting smiles on the faces of the long-suffering people of the State, stressing that he was poised towards the rediscovery of abandoned pathways to socio-economic development if elected as governor in 2019.

Biem disclosed this in an acceptance speech he delivered at the Benue State Secretariat of the party in Makurdi, shortly after he was returned as the gubernatorial candidate of the party having polled the highest number of votes during its direct primaries which took place across the State.

“I wish to first appreciate our party men and women, who have worked so hard in propagating the ideals of our party in all the nooks and corners of Benue. I urge you to redouble your efforts to ensure that all people of goodwill are brought on board this mission.

“And that will require sparing of no resource till every man and woman in every community has heard about what this Rescue Mission portends for them”

Mr Biem who was full of gratitude to his fellow contestants for exhibiting a high sense of maturity said, their exemplary conduct and the ideals they purveyed had further convinced him that the SDP was indeed the home of true progressives.

“I urge you to believe in this Rescue Project and work towards its realization. Resolve to cast your votes for SDP on election day as a way out of the present debacle. You owe yourself and future generations a duty to prevent the Benue ship from capsizing”
