Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has described the choice of former vice President, Alhaji  Abubakar Atiku, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate as a sign of hope for Nigerians.

Idris, in statement he personally signed, congratulated Atiku for the feat he recorded at the just-concluded PDP national convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

While describing the convention as the most credible and transparent ever, Idris noted that the choice of Atiku as the party standard bearer by the delegates was noble.

According to him, Atiku is the most prepared candidate who would turn the fortunes of the country around.

“The Alhaji Atiku I know is very much experienced and articulate in governance. This is a man who is ready to transform this country with his wealth of experience.

“Let me also use this medium to congratulate the entire Nigerians and the PDP for making a wise choice in Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.”

Similarly, a governorship hopeful, under the umbrella of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Nicholas Yahaya Ugbane, felicitated with Turakin Adamawa over his election by the PDP.

He told journalists on Wednesday that the victory of the former vice president in the keenly contested presidential primary election in Port Harcourt was a testimony of his popularity and acceptability.

He said that the success of Atiku in the exercise was an indication of a man whose time had come, adding that odds are immensely in his favour in the next presidential election.
