Aiteo Cup: Pillars to camp in Benin for Rangers

Agead of the final of the 2018 Aiteo Cup scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State, Kano state government has completed plans to camp kano pillars football club players at Benin the Edo state capital.

Pillars will clash with familiar foes, Rangers International football club of Enugu on 24th of this month in Asaba,Delta state.


This was disclosed yesterday (Tuesday) by the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna while addressing players and technical crew of the club at Sani Abacha stadium kofar Mata, Kano shortly after their training session.

Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna also commended the team for their efforts to reach the final in the competition and assured that before the date of the final all their outstanding match bonus would be settled by the kano state government.


He promised that the state government would mobilize supporters of the club to be in Asaba during the final to cheer up the players to victory even as he assured that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje will honour them with a special gift if they win the trophy.

The Deputy Governor then presented a cash donation of two hundred thousand naira to the players and fifty thousand naira to the number one goalkeeper of the club David Obiozo for his outstanding performance during the club semi final encounter with Katsina united football club in Lagos last week.


In their separate remarks, Chairman Kano state sports commission and chairman Kano Pillars football club,Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima and Alhaji Tukur Babangida commended the state government for its financial and moral support to the club at all times.
