November 9th, 2018

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo has displayed names of governorship candidates of 67 political parties without that of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) currently embroiled in who represents the party.

Officials of the commission begun pasting the names early Friday morning at the commission’s office along the busy Port Harcourt road, Owerri.

Amongst names displayed include Chief Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Senator Ifeanyi Araraume of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA); Ibe Kenechukwu of Accord Party; Barrister Ngozi Olehi of All Grassroots Alliance (AGA); Chief Ike C. Ibe, a former Deputy Speaker in the State House of Assembly for ID party.

Others include Mrs Ibeh Mercy Adaku of Democratic Peoples Party (DPM); Ononogbo Emeka Emmanuel of GPN.

Officials however failed to explain why there was no representation for the APC.

Already, journalists have besieged the INEC State headquarters to confirm the development.
