Sokoto deputy governor resigns

The deputy governor of Sokoto State Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has resigned .

Our correspondent gathered that Ahmad submitted his resignation letter to Sokoto state house of assembly on Tuesday but the letter was not read on the floor by the assembly at the time of filing this report.

According to the source in the assembly who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the resignation.

He denied that Ahmad resigned as a result of impeachment threat stressing that there was no plot to impeach the deputy governor since he has not committed any impeachment offence.

When our correspondent call on the director of press to the deputy governor Bawa Ibrahim for his comments he was not available to respond and he does not pick call put across to him .

It has been recalled that in July when governor Aminu Tambuwal defected with nineteen house of assembly members to People Democratic Party his deputy remained in All Progressive Congress with eleven house of assembly members.

Ahmad is the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress and he is to slug it out with his boss in the governorship election.

A member of All progressive congress who don’t want his name to be mentioned stated that as preparation for the 2019 gathered momentum the deputy governor take a good decision to avoid been threat with impeachment so that he will not be distracted.
