Organisers plan big for Mock Nations Cup final

Chairman, Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the ongoing 2018 Ajegunle/Apapa Mock Nations Cup holding at the famous Navy Ground, Apapa, Lagos, Engineer Isaac Siawe has promised an exciting final come Thursday December 27, 2018.

According him, their target is to produce more classy footballers like Henry Nwosu, Tarila Okoronwata, Ajibade Babalade, Gordon Osusu, Samson Siasia, Emmanuel Amuneke, Ifeanyi Udeze, Dimeji Lawal, Abiodun Baruwa, Gabriel Okolosi, Jide Oguntunase, Taiwo Oloyede, Ikpe Ekong, Brown Ideye and Odion Ighalo amongst others, who were all products of competition now in its 36th edition.

“In the last 36 years of the inception of this tournament, we’ve been noted for producing quality players that have been vital to the success of the different national teams and top clubs in the country and abroad.

“It’s our resolve to uphold the tradition, hence stakeholder are guaranteed top class football come’, he said.

The tournament which began with 48 teams from almost all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State some weeks ago will reach its climax with the third place match holding on Sunday, December 23 while the final holds Thursday next week.

Some of the teams that entered for the tournament include defending champions, Tunisia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Cameroon, Angola, Cote d’ Ivoire, Senegal, Egypt, South Africa, Zambia and Togo amongst others.
