Recognising the need for a proactive and efficient workforce, the Nigerian Institute of Soil Science (NISS) has conducted an induction training for pioneer staff of the organisation in other to ensure that the mandates of the institute are effectively carried out.
Speaking at the training held in Abuja recently, the Registrar, Prof Victor Chude explained that university education may not be present the overall knowledge workers need to be productive hence the need for them to undergo the training
Prof Chude challenged staff to be proactive in their duties to ensure successful implementation of programmes and policies of d institute.
He further pointed management would not condone laziness on the part of staff but ensure professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
The Institute is charged with the mandate of formulating and regulating the standards of academic qualifications and practical skills to be attained by persons seeking to be registered as members of the institute.
The overall objectives of the training is to familiarise staff of the institute’s bill and the expectations required of them.
