The newly elected Exco of the Prarlympic Committee of Nigeria (PCN) have vowed to instill radical changes in the nation’s paralympic Sports, indeed, promising better days ahead.
The new board headed by Brigadier-General Emico Eruwa reaffirmed their vow at Wednesday’s official handover ceremony from the former Exco led by Monday Emoghavwe (MON) at the PCN office, National Stadium Surulere, Lagos.
After Emoghavwe and former Secretary -General, Dr. Frank Thorpe officially handed over documents and Secretariat to the new Secretary-General, Suleiman Isah and Assistant Secretary, Sunday Odior, Brig-Gen Eruwa said the new Exco would do everything possible to inspire the various sports federations and special athletes.
While commending the former Exco for a good job they did within their tenure, Eruwa, who is also president of Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, said: “Right from the very credible election of January 15, the PCN has been strategising on who to make para sports record radical progress in both local and international meets.
“We’re seeking the cooperation of the government, corporate groups and the media towards realising the set targets,” he added, just as he applauded Team Nigeria’s success at the just concluded international para powerlifting championship, Lagos, where the nation won with 42 medals.
