Nigerian international Chidiebere Nwakali has joined new club Kalmar FF of Sweden in its preseason tour of Turkey ahead of the league’s resumption date of in March.
The Nigerian former junior international joined the Swedish side from Czech Republic club Rakow Czestochowa after signing for English Premier League side, Manchester City in 2014 where he spent time on loan at Malaga, Girona, Start, Sogndal and Aberdeen before making a permanent move to the Czech club in the summer of 2018.
Nwakali joined the swedish side on January 22nd and will team up with fellow Nigerian defender Gbenga Arokoyo who move to the Swedish outfit from MLS side Portland Timbers in 2018.
Nwakali on his social media page broke the news of the team’s preseason tour of Turkey; “Preseason with @kalmar_ff Turkey please be nice to your son let the hard work begin.” Nwakali who recently signed stated that his aim with the club is to develop his football in a very stable environment.
Kalmar FF will play her first league match in the Allsvenskan (Swedish first division) against Sirius FC on the 31st of March 2019.
