Students from Bauchi State have endorsed Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to continue in office beyond 2019.
Dogara, who represent Dass Tafawa Balewa and Bogora Federal Constituency at the National Assembly according to the students, has all it takes to continue in office beyond 2019.
The entire students leaders of Bauchi State under the apex body of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), Bauchi Emirate Students Association, Sayawa and Jarawa students Association, Dass Emirate Students Association, Muslim And Christians Students Association and Bauchi Female students Association made the endorsement in a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday.
The leader of the movement, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan said the entire students leadership unanimously endorse Dogara for another term in office after painstakingly followed his performance in the last sixteen years.
The students said his tremendous contributions to development of his constituency, Bauchi state and Nigeria at large is worthy of emulation and should therefore be supported to emerge victorious at the polls.
They also urged all serving corps members in the state to desist from being used to manipulate election results during the elections.
“Dogara is an exemplary leader that has all the qualities of a leader, he remains the best Speaker that the House of Representatives has ever produced, and he should be supported.
“Dogara is a leader that believe in One Nigeria, one people and one nation, he has dedicated himself to the development of his constituency, Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.
“Dogara is a peace maker that don’t encourage violence and political thuggery but rather preaches peace, one love and unity, he is still the right person that we need at this time,” the groups said
The students said they will moblize fully and support him as also called on INEC to conduct free, fair, transparent and credible elections across the country.
While urging security agencies to remain neutral in the conduct of the elections as announced by the Inspector General of Police, the student leaders also urged the international observers to display high level of professionalism during the polls.
