APC: Insecurity, hunger, now a global challenge

  … Buhari’s wife urges mothers to guard their children off election violence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) at the weekend admitted that a good number of the citizen is facing the challenge of insecurity, hunger and poverty, even as the party noted that those challenges have gone global and not limited to Nigeria alone

 Speaking at a rally in organized in Abuja to mark the end of the Women and Youth wing of the Presidential Campaign Council solidarity Walk with the President, the party gave examples of countries with high level of security techniques and personnel, but still have security challenges. Also according to APC, there are countries which economy is said to be buoyant, but are still faced with challenges of hunger and poverty.

Speaking at a gathering in Abuja, where the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari urged mothers to educate their children on the need to shun election violence, stressing that they would not cry because of their children in the forthcoming elections.

The APC members, who spoke at the Women and Youth Walk for Buhari event organized by the leader of the Women and Youth Campaign team for reelection of President Buhari, Aisha Buhari said the opposition Peoples Democratic Party campaign of insecurity, poverty and hunger against the President has no substance.

In his speech,  the Sports Minister said, “We are here to reaffirm that it is possible for Nigeria to produce a leader with integrity. Now we have the rail line and the train, security and growing economy.

“The security allegations against this government are not sustainable. America is facing security challenges. Hunger is everywhere and poverty is not limited to Nigeria.”

Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, who represented the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, in her remarks charged the youths to go out and vote and not fight.

Similarly, Marwa who said the walk was staged in solidarity with the President’s re election ambition noted, “This is in support for Buhari. He is a man of honour, integrity and performance. He has led by example, as a good leader must lead by example.

The “Walk for Buhari” stared from the Unity Fountain and ended at Eagle Square, where the final rally took place.
