The Presidential candidate of Alliance National Party (ANP), Mashood Shittu, has promised to fix Nigeria within one year if elected Presiden on February 16.
Shittu made the promise in an interview with journalists shortly after paying a courtesy call on the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, at his Palace in Zaria city, in continuation of his campaign tour.
The presidential candidate, who was at the palace to seek the Royal Father’s blessing pointed out that Nigeria is blessed, but regretted that there was no meaningful development because of the selfish interest of the nation’s leaders
He identified the way out of Nigeria’s problem to include peace and security, massive employment for the youths and the ability of the leaders to sincerely and honestly see the country as their constituency with a focus on even attention and development.
On the current security challenges rocking the country, he said he has good structures on the ground and that when he becomes the president, he will stamp out insecurity.
While appealing to Nigerians to give him the mandate to oversee the affairs of Nigeria, he said he will tackle insecurity through massive job creation and transparency in governance, among others, adding that a hungry man is an angry man and of course the devil’s workshop,
“Boko Haram menace could be addressed by fighting poverty in the land” and declared “if our youths are given jobs, nobody will want to be involved in any criminal activities”.
The ANP Candidate had earlier told the Emir that he was at his Palace to seek his fatherly and royal blessing in his quest to rule the country and use his wealth of experience to fix it.
Responding, the Emir prayed to Almighty Allah to see the candidate through in his political struggle, saying “my door will always be opened for any advice”
