As elections gradually draws near, the presidential candidate of the Alliance National Party (ANP), Asiwaju Shittu, has said that the party will avoid mistakes made by past leaders in governance if voted into power come February 16.
He also reiterated his party’s commitment to transform the Nigerian economy and establish a free and democratic society.
Speaking with journalist in Abuja, Shittu said that his party will strive to reconcile all forces alienated by recent political events and also heal divisions and restore harmony.
“Faced with the tragic consequences of high rate of unemployment, our vision is to qualitatively transform the Nigeria economy and society through the creation of dynamic economy designed to serve public interest and in which market forces are combined with the forces of partnership, solidarity and cooperation to created and produce foods and serves for all.
“Our great party APN is ready to restructure Nigeria in the spirit of true federalism, so as to achieve a just and equitable distribution of power, wealth and opportunities.
“We are also commuted to building a qualitative better Nigeria based on the principles of democracy, Human rights and social justice under the rule of law,” he added.
Shittu further stressed the need for Nigerians to vote without fear or favour and avoid vote buying during the polls.
