From Hafsat Adebayo, Bauchi
The wife of Bauchi State governor, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar, has expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari will win Saturday’s presidential election and Governor Mohammed Abubakar will take his victory turn on March 2.
Speaking at a youth and women rally she organised for Buhari and Abubakar’s re-election in Bauchi yesterday, the wife of the governor stated that she is not only impressed but also sure of victories for the President and governor in the general elections.
Hajiya Abubakar, who is also the North-East Coordinator of Buhari Women and Youth 2019 campaign committee, stated that she is upbeat about the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming elections in view of the mammoth crowd who trooped out for the APC governorship and presidential rallies.
Represented at the event by her special assistant on domestic affairs, Hajiya Aisha Borodo, the governor’s wife, however, urged the youth and women to come out in their large numbers to vote for APC candidates like they come out en mass to attend campaign rallies.
She also sued for peace in Bauchi State before, during and after the general elections and urged the electorate in the state to conduct themselves in an orderly manner throughout the election period.
Youth and women groups which attended the re-election rally trekked from the Government House in Bauchi to the palace of the Emir of Bauchi.
The youth and women, chanting solidarity songs and urging people to vote for APC on February 16 and March 2 also marched through major streets in Bauchi metropolis.
