Ahead of the 2019 general elections, which begins on Saturday, February 16, with the Presidential and National Assembly polls, the Inter Party Advisory Council [IPAC], yesterday organised a Nationwide voters education and sensitization exercise across the six zones of the country, with a caution for all the candidates of the election, their respective political parties and supporters to abide by the rules, as a measure of avoiding political violence during and after the elections.
IPAC also cautioned that no political ambition of any Nigerian is worth the blood any fellow Nigerian, or by extension the destruction of properties, adding that the age long inter -ethnic and inter religious harmony among Nigeriansmust not be destroyed by political ambitions
The IPAC’s voter education and sensitization exercise was demonstrated through road shows, seminars and workshops across the six zones of the country.
The South East zones of the road show by officials/representatives from the five states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Ebonyi states, which was led by the National legal adviser, Barr.Kenneth Udeze, took off from Utopia hotel in Independence layout axis of the metropolis, marched through Bisalla road to Enugu state government house
The IPAC national chairman, High Chief Peter Ameh, in his address read by Barr. Ken Udeze, assured that the yesterday’s voter education and sensitization by IPAC through road shows and workshop/seminar are aimed at ensuring that the 2019 general elections are peaceful.
“We must be aptly reminded with amplification and extension that the political ambition of any Nigerian is not worth the blood of any fellow Nigerian, or by extension the destruction of properties. So, let us learn and write this in our hearts and uphold this doctrine all across Nigeria, in the 2019 General elections,” he charged.
