IPAC also cautioned that ‘No political ambition of any Nigerian is worth the blood any fellow Nigerian, or by extension the destruction of properties, age long inter -ethnic and inter religious harmony among Nigerians, or the erosion of elementary and primary friendships among Nigerian families’.
To drive home their clarion call for a violence free, fair and credible elections, the IPAC’s voter education and sensitization exercise was demonstrated through Roadshows, seminars and workshops across the six zones of the country. The South East zone version of the roadshow held in Enugu, involved a walk across some major streets in Enugu metropolis.
The Enugu version made up of IPAC officials/representatives from the fives states of Abia,Anambra,Ebonyi, Enugu and Ebonyi states, led by the National legal adviser,IPAC, Barr.Kenneth Udeze, took off their roadshow from Utopia hotel in Independence layout axis of the metropolis, marched through Bisalla road to Enugu state government house and burst out on Nza street, enlightening members of the public of the incessant need to vote in the elections. They also urges the people to resist all forms of financial inducement and vote for candidates of their choice.
The National Chairman of IPAC,High Chief Peter Ameh, in his address read by Barr. Ken Udeze, the IPAC national adviser assured that the yesterday’s voter education and sensitization by IPAC through Roadshows and workshop/seminar will help in ensuring 2019 general elections are peaceful,,just as their previous exercises impacted successful conduct of governorship elections in Anambra, Edo,Ondo,Ekiti and Osun states, etc.
His words, ‘IPAC roadshows and workshops across all the Geo political zones are designed to complement INEC’s stellar efforts to conduct very successful elections nationwide. This patriotic programme will highlight IPAC’s campaign of championing the eradication of electoral violence and other vestiges of electoral malfeasance and the nefarious vote buying/selling syndrome across the country. This will be another milestone and contribution of IPAC to advancing democracy in Nigeria’.
‘We must be aptly reminded with amplification and extension that the political ambition of any Nigerian is not worth the blood of any fellow Nigerian, or by extension the destruction of properties, age long inter ethnic and inter religious harmony among Nigerians, or the erosion of elementary and primary friendships among Nigerian families. So,let us learn and write this in our hearts and uphold this doctrine all across Nigeria, in the 2019 General elections’.
