Roger Federer is eager to see Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray back on the ATP Tour again, saying “it’s definitely a better Tour with them”.
Just over two weeks after he was forced to withdraw from his Indian Wells semi-final against Federer, Nadal has made a tentative return to the practice court with the hope of making a competitive comeback at the Monte-Carl Masters later in April.
Murray’s return date, though, is still up in the air as he underwent hip resurfacing operation in January and is dreaming of playing at Wimbledon this year, but it remains to be seen if he will be fully fit for the grass-court season.
“It’s definitely a better tour with them,” Federer is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “Regardless of their injuries they will come back and I hope when they do come back they are going to be very strong, like the last few times, with Andy in particular, with the uncertainty about his hip, I just wish him the best.
“I still think they will all be back this year at some point hopefully, and hopefully the year-end will be incredibly exciting.”
