The General Overseer of Living Christ Mission, His Grace, Prof. Daddy Hezekiah, has appealed to the federal government not to interfere with the nation’s judicial system so as to ensure Justice, and the various elect ion tribunal, so that he could earn respect before international communities and sustain the country’s democratic system.
Daddy Hezekiah, who is also the Proprietor and Chancellor, Hezekiah University, Umudi, Imo State, disclosed this in an address read on his behalf by Prof. Godwin Nwanolue, his Head of Protocols on the occasion of the official commissioning of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Department of Political Science Ultra- Modern Multi Million Naira complex, Philanthropically rebuilt and remodelled by the man of God.
The cleric, reminded the federal government that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man, adding that no one is above the law of the country; even as he appealed to the judiciary especially the Supreme Court not to be partial.
“It should be impartial/transparent and should never support injustice or perversion of justice. Let the Nigerian judiciary know that the whole world is watching carefully how it is handling some sensitive cases in Nigeria especially the ones concerning the 23rd February 2019 Presidential and other election.
For the President, the cleric noted, “If he stands for the truth and ensures that justice prevails over injustice, it will earn it a great respect in the world and it will go a long way in helping Nigeria to move forward and send a great warning to those who believed in elections malpractice including rigging of elections.”
The man of God revealed that he was inspired to embark on the project as two of his children, that is Princes Favour Chukwunazaekpere and Prince Samuel Onyinyeomachukwu Gift who are still students of the department early last year drew his attention to the deplorable conditions of the departmental building which he lamented was at the verge of collapsing and appealed for intervention.
He also commended Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Abada, the departmental head and the University authority for their passionate appeal which he said also motivated him to take the challenge of rebuilding and remodelling the entire complex and construct a new office block for the staff, despite all the other on-going capital intensive projects in his private University and Church
Earlier, the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof Benjamin Ozumba had expressed gratitude over the philanthropic gestures of Daddy Hezekiah to the University noting him as a man of large heart and good spirit towards humanity.
